never understood the point of telling people that there will be a release of anything sometime in the future. Or of telling everyone when exactly it will be, either. Just causes unnecessary strain on the network. Just release, and say it's released. Rather than making everyone 'line up outside and stand in line for weeks' as it were. You guys probably wouldn't need the same amount of bandwidth that you currently keep on tap if you just silently released stuff, and people just randomly starting/restarting steam get the new release in a random fashion. Rather than telling everyone to restart steam at exactly 10am PST on December 16th and the network proceeds to be next to useless.
