Earlier today I showed 1222 day of defeat servers (with all filters off).
Only 21 show below 150 latency though. Only 6 show below 100. There are
none below 50. Ppreviously I had servers showing up in the teens and tons
below 150....a couple hundred or more that met all my filters not full,
secure, players playing, not password protected, <150 latency). Now I
barely get a handfull with all the filters off. What gives? I've
uninstalled and reinstalled all my half-life games and steam.

The other thing I have noticed is that some of the servers in history aren't
showing up on the master list. I've run lavasoft add aware, spybot search
and destroy and spywareblaster and everything seems ok.

I tried to log onto a hl server to see if it was only effecting day of
defeat. It said could not connect to the master server.

All this started Wednesday night. It was fine before then.

There used to be a guy on one of the servers that said players in game could
use programs to glitch other people out. I wasn't sure if he was just
paranoid or what. But I'm wondering if something like this could be going
on. Even so, I've uninstalled and re-installed everything.

From my end it seems like all of a sudden all the latencies on all the
servers doubled or tripled and some servers aren't showing up at all.
Any suggestions?

I just checked on half life deathmatch. I can't even get into the server
list there. It says "can't access master server" or something to that
effect. I downloaded and played the hl 2 demo the other day. That thing
didn't have a time bomb or something in it did it?

This is really frustrating. My lowest latency listed for dod servers is
now
118 whereas before I had some as low as around 19 and tons to choose from
between there and 150. I just played on a server I have played on many
times before. My mouse 1 and 2 and weapons switching was not responsive
enough to play effectively as my latency was in the high 200s. Like I say
this all started last night (Wednesday May 11th). It was fine before then.
What is going on? If I were sure it was on my end and not some kind of
steam
bug I would slick my drive and start all over again. I've already
uninstalled and reinstalled the half life games and steam. That did not
seem to help.

Any ideas?

Also, where is a good list of dod console tweaks for best performance. I
had some links on my old comp but lost them and all my set ups when the old
comp flaked.
