Mike,
My css server falls off the master all the time, my friends all have it
in favorites so it doesn't bother them.
But I have never gotten a strait answer about this issue, from this
list, or anywhere. Running on win 2k sp4 no
mods. So I think its a Valve issue, in my opinion.
Heck I still haven't got an answer on my bot problem.
Think that's a valve bug since the last update, since Alfred asked a
couple questions then remained silent.
Or my HLDM server problem for that matter, no one cares about it.

In general I concur with Clayton, even VM-ESX Server instances can show
some flakyness when stressed. If you have the time though it would be
interesting to see if you ran a win32 virtual instance running the win32
server and see if it showed the same problem. ( my guess would be it
probably would.)

I think the problem is you're trying to run performance-needy game
server software in a performance-sapping virtual machine. I sincerely
doubt you'll ever have good results. Do yourself a favour and just do
it the right way.
