-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] The updates tend to overwrite all files just to avoid all the possibile file incompatabilities, not that there should be. But hell, its easier for a user to back up their MOTD files than it is for a developer to ensure each and every user old files remain compatible with whatever update they release. Just keep a backup of your banned.cfg server.cfg and motd.txt and any othert config files you have before you update HLDS/SRCDS
