Again, as stated either in my previous comments on in the wiki, adding the -heapsize switch/value is to no effect as that was the first thing we tried. We originally tried it with a larger value but I just attempted a startup with the value you quoted and the results are the same. There must be another answer to this question and you may drop 4GBs of RAM into any Windows server to see for yourself the results. I'd love nothing more than to have a simple command switch fix the issue but "-heapsize 128000" is not it Alfred. As this situation will come to be more and more prevalent with the price of RAM dropping and the servers becoming more powerful to hold more servers there must be an answer to this on the horizon. By all means, test it yourself. "-heapsize ANYTHING" is not an answer.

Add "-heapsize 128000" to the command line to get hlds to work on machine with more than 4Gb of ram. - Alfred ----Original Message---- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mike Miller Sent: Thursday, October 13, 2005 11:44 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [hlds] Introducing ServerWiki.org > -- > [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] > On 10/14/05, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Then by all means allow me to post the answer to why we receive the > > error "Available memory less than 15MB!!!" when we have 4GB of > > system RAM and I > > would be most happy to post that in any area of the wiki you direct > > me to. > > It is a pop-up window that says this and according to > > steampowered.com<http://steampowered.com>in searching for that > > phrase continues to be an unanswered question.
