-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Not to overstate the obvious but I hope you have more than ONE license to HL2 if you are using the Dedicated Server that comes with it on one machine and using HL2 as a client on the second machine. It sounds as if you have installed the same copy of HL2 on both boxes and are running dedicated server on one and using the second copy on the other machine to be the client. They both have to logon to Steam to work and only ONE connection per STEAM ID can occur. You have to either use the srcds standalone server (www.srcds.com) on the server box (no Steam license required) or buy a second copy of HL2 to get a second STEAM ID if you want to run Valve's Dedicated server (not as good of a choice in my opinion) as your server. If you haven't already. go to www.srcds.com and download/install their solution. I also recommend Mani's Admin Plugin for managing your server. I use SRCDS and MANI on both of my servers and am quite happy with the combo. And I don't need to buy a second copy of HL2 to do that!
