This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- I would suspect that as is the case in CS Source, this scenario:
"emptying a magazine-full of automatic fire into a player at point-blank range and have him one-shot you with a rabbit's foot is to type quit in the console and find a DoD 1.3 server. I'm hoping there's an alternative solution in the works soon." Is generally down to, shall we say, "user error" Unless it can be reproduced it cannot be fixed. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dan Sorenson Sent: 08 December 2005 02:16 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [hlds] Re: Has Valve ever heard of QUALITY CONTROL? All it takes is a WAN game instead of LAN and an opponent. Once you hit pings above 100 things get really strange from a client perspective, and even below that things are somewhat odd. >Not being a DoD player I have no idea if this problem is wide spread. Check out the steampowered forums if you want to see what the players are complaining about. Most times it's something we as admins can't address, but if you want to keep your customers happy it makes sense to pay attention to their complaints. BTW: the work-around for stuck players on DoD:S is to go prone and crawl away from each other. The work-around for emptying a magazine-full of automatic fire into a player at point-blank range and have him one-shot you with a rabbit's foot is to type quit in the console and find a DoD 1.3 server. I'm hoping there's an alternative solution in the works soon. - Dan * Dan Sorenson DoD #1066 A.H.M.C. #35 [EMAIL PROTECTED] * * Vikings? There ain't no vikings here.
