im not demanding any actual time just a random time that they announce about
a day or 2 ahead of time that way all server admins can upgrade their
servers asap most other games have this deal. Thats why I request it.
Makes running servers much nicer and saves many cell minutes and frustration
from everyone calling me or xfireing me or aiming me.... That way I can tell
them look at X time your server will be down for about 10-15 minutes tops
and then will be back up. Everyone would like it more only problem with
this aproach is valve would probably have to get more servers so more people
can update all at once. Cause there is some huge number of servers out
there and say 10000 hitting 1 or 10 servers all at the same time would bog
the living hell out of that server. Maybe to prevent this announce it that
for 2 days u can run a update program with a different command line of
course and update it then at that point everyone can do a update slowly over
those day or 2 that is given and schedule a batch file or be ready with a
few batch files just to copy from x directoy to each of the new directorys
or just have X many new directorys set up with this new server and just
execute a new folder

I demand all updates be made at 10:30am my time Monday morning, as that
gives my staff an hour and a half to clear their morning shit out of the
way, and then the roll out can be done Monday morning when our servers
aren't very busy, and we have the rest of the day to get the servers
working
and Valve have the whole week to sort out the crap from their latest
update
and stuff the rest of you! :D
Merry Christmas

we all know they update at about 3pm to 5pm on the west
coast time. Now, that puts it about 7a to 9a or earlier
in Eastern Asia where Valve's major market is. Or it
could be that they finalize there stuff just before the
first shift crew leaves for the day.
Which ever you prefer... Merry Christmas
He he, qualifies for reply of the year.......well said
