do you have a router/firewall? and have you opened the correct port in both
of them? you say you can connect lan, if you have a router be sure your
giving them your external ip address to connect to, you can find that at
www.whatsmyip.org

Nevermind... Blonde moment. I typed sv_lan 0 in console changed the lan
settings and still no luck.

Other people being on your LAN? Or the Internet?
If people on the internet are having trouble connecting to the server,
sv_lan is probably set to 1.
