Hi there,
I just downloaded the beta (server and client) but no matter what I try,
the server always seems to run from 'cstrike' and not pay any attention
to 'cstrike_beta'.
Directory of C:\Valve\srcds

12/10/2006 08:42 <DIR> cstrike_beta
So, if I run srcds.exe with -game cstrike_beta, the standard UI pops up,
but there are two "Counter-Strike: Source" options, and both seem to
launch the same server:

Trying to run the server with either one of these options, and getting
the beta client to connect to each says:
COM_CheckGameDirectory: game directories don't match
(cstrike_beta / cstrike)
Netchannel: failed processing message svc_ServerInfo.
Clearly, I'm missing something.
Anyone?
