I like the idea of DWP. I hope it takes. One of the heavy criticisms
I'm trying to respond to is:
"If prices are going up so drastically, why don't other prices go down
as drastically?"

If z is mean, y is the decrease, and x is the increase, z=y+x?
e.g. consider only m4, scout, awp, m249
If m4 and scout increase by a total of 3000, shouldn't the awp and
m249 decrease by a total of 3000?

Maybe, maybe not. Inflation's a bitch ;)

Obviously the startmoney should be default
