Hello,
I've had 2 seperate HLDS installations running fine for years on my
server computer (running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64).
All of a sudden I find thousands of waiting "Send error report to
Microsoft" messages, all with the same error details:
AppName: hlds.exe AppVer: 4.1.1.1 ModName: swds.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0009380d
Removing swds.dll causes the server not to start at all. I've also tried
replacing it via the HLDS update tool.
The server runs for 3 seconds before crashing, not enough to appear
online to anyone. The error occurs with and without metamod, and as
normal or a service.
I don't think a fresh installation will help, as the problem occured
without modifying any HLDS files. The error must be created by something
else.
What should try first?
