Regarding the "ContentServer rejected client session login" I bypassed this error by deleting the following 2 files which get recreated (hopefully that does not mess anything else up)
ClientRegistry.blob InstallRecord.blob Also noticed that the MOTD is overwritten each time an update is done. I am going to make the MOTD read only to avoid having to upload a backup each time. What else get's overwritten?????? Reply-To: [email protected] -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I'm not sure if that's specific to the Orange box engine though, I seem to recall the same thing happening on my CS servers. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but if the server is empty the timelimit will run until its out, and then it will wait to change the map until someone has joined the server. Maybe a 'new' feature for SRCDS/TF2 to be added? A possible scenario is that people might avoid your server because they see a map being on that they don't like. In this case the server would never change its map. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Patrick Shelley Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2007 17:06 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [hlds] Empty servers not moving on.... -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] as far as i know - empty servers dont change maps. i had this (and as long as the mp_timelimit is set) and it was all ok when there were players. The map sits until initialized and even if there's 0 players after someone has been playing it will change after the time limit is up from what I've seen on my server. --- MeZelf <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Guess I paid bad attention in the past then. > > This is different from HLDS, because HLDS does move > on (with TFC is does). > Maybe a 'new' feature for SRCDS/TF2 to be added? > > A possible scenario is that people might avoid your > server because they see > a map being on that they don't like. > In this case the server would never change its map. > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf > Of Patrick Shelley > Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2007 17:06 > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [hlds] Empty servers not moving on.... > > > -- > [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] > as far as i know - empty servers dont change maps. i > had this (and as long > as the mp_timelimit is set) and it was all ok when > there were players. > > On 9/27/07, MeZelf <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Updated TF2 servers and restarted them. > > But now I notice that empty servers don't move on > to the next map anymore. > > With a mp_timelimit 25 I have 4 servers atm that > still haven't changed > > after > > 90 minutes. > > > > Will there be a fix for this fix from yesterday? > > > > > > Sebastiaan > > (currently at work so I can't join them to check > the remaining time) > > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or > view the list archives, > > please visit: > > > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds > > > -- > > _______________________________________________ > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view > the list archives, > please visit: > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds > > > > _______________________________________________ > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view > the list archives, please visit: > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds > ____________________________________________________________________________ ________ Catch up on fall's hot new shows on Yahoo! Several server plugins (such as Mani) can change the map after a specified time, but mp_timelimit only takes effect if players are on the server. On 9/27/07, P. Reply-To: [email protected] There are server plugins that can "fix" that issue by changing the map after the limit is reached. But you will have to wait for Valve releasing the new Source SDK. > Well if you notice, everything is timer based and > unless there's someone or something playing to kick > the timer. Date: Thu, 27 Sep 2007 08:54:56 -0700 Reply-To: [email protected] The game's internal timer doesn't start until at least one player has joined. After at least one player has joined (and left, it doesn't matter) the timer will keep going from then on. So basically, a simple fix to your issue is to join your server and then leave. After you've done that, everything should proceed as how you expect it. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of MeZelf Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2007 8:00 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [hlds] Empty servers not moving on.... Dunno why, but then it worked. Must be something to do with the clientregistry.blob or something. You could try just deleting that file.
