The problems seems to surround the Linux DoD servers. Ours has a 5 month old 
.so while the Windows DLLs are new today. This doesn't appear to be client-only 
after all.

This was clientside only wasn't it? I haven't had any heartbeat update
request, and people are not having problems connecting to my TF2
servers.
