Well then apparently I'm living in the past. :D I've never had to / wanted to run both the server and the client on the same PC (due to me always having 2 or more computers), and back when I first got into the whole hlds thing, what I posted below WAS how you were supposed to it. Sorry, didn't mean to post any misinformation.
