I agree with Robert... at least some indication that work is being done to fix this would be nice. This or at least give us the ability to turn off stats reporting without loading a mod.
You're right though, I was being generous with my percentage. I know others have issues more than 25% of the time, but I have always played L4D on my own dedicated box, so I'm sure that the lighter server load helps alleviate SOME of the crashing (I can't confirm if server load exacerbates the problem), but I digress... Let's see if Valve confirms if they are working on it; that'd make many of us very happy to have at least an acknowledgement. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Robert Whelan Sent: Tuesday, April 07, 2009 11:51 AM To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds] [L4D] Disconnection on mapchange I plead for help as well though I got no love:- Subject:- Server connection timed out:- SignalXWriteOpportunity(1) Wonder if Neph's DSU would help the issue we have? Imagine how others feel turb0z, lol. Some of us go 60 seconds, 2, 5, 15...45 minutes and sometimes at map changes before getting disconnected. Its also a hell of allot more the 20% of the time as well. I tried playing for the first time in weeks over the weekend and just gave up :( Can we even get a 'nod' from valve about addressing the issue or if in fact its on their 'todo list'? ________________________________ From: turb0z <[email protected]> To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, April 7, 2009 10:21:50 AM Subject: Re: [hlds] [L4D] Disconnection on mapchange Agreed. Unfortunately the fix for TF2 came... over a month ago? It's just frustrating, for me and everyone else, to spend 45 minutes in a campaign to get disconnected right before the finale tileset. I'd say it happens about 25% of the time. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Brent Veal Sent: Tuesday, April 07, 2009 10:10 AM To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds] [L4D] Disconnection on mapchange They fixed it on TF2, so I dont see why they wont eventually fix it on L4D On Tue, Apr 7, 2009 at 8:03 AM, turb0z <[email protected]> wrote: > Using that plugin should be considered a bandaid.
