Most of the people complaining are sad, angry and jealous folk who are afraid and resistant to any sort of change be it good or bad and will rail against it and try to prevent it no matter what. The update is free, the game is still fun, it's not an rpg, and it's not ruined forever. There's no concluding statement to add here, because people will still whine and bitch and complain about all of this until they put the old system back, and then they will whine, bitch and complain about the old system and how Valve is unoriginal and what not. So that's it.
