Yeah, same problem with my HLDSupdatetool, just aborts, then closes down. Isn't it something to do with the fact that Steam have been using HTTP to get the updates to us, one Valve guy on the Steam Forum said that they have been using HTTP to ship updates from the Item Server, to the clients for the last few weeks, but that dedicated servers aren't yet compatible with HTTP updates, but that if your server says something like 'Received ....bytes item schema version ....direct data; update is queued.', then it means that your server is up to date currently, but the message is still there.
