i would make you startcs file like this
#! /bin/bash
cd /home/counter/hlds_l
screen -A -m -d -S hlds ./hlds_run -game cstrike +maxplayers 19 +map de_dust
&

then screen -r hlds to re-attach
and cntrl a + d to detach

I am a newbie at Linux.

I want to start my server via crontab

but it doesn't seem to start.

if I do a tail -f /var/log/messages i see :
Oct 31 18:27:00 tuxmaster CROND[1649]: (counter) CMD
(/home/counter/hlds_l/startcs)

and this is my startcs file :

#! /bin/bash
/home/counter/hlds_l/hlds_run -game cstrike +maxplayers 19 +map de_dust

the startcs file is executable ls -l :
-rwxrwxr-x    1 counter  counter        85 oct 31 18:26 startcs*

and if i launch it manually my server runs without any problem ....

who can help me !!!!


BTW I would like to start it via a screen command to be able to connect and
retrieve the console .....


PLIZZZZZZZZ HELP !!!

I AM DESPERATE !!!
