Sorry this may be a double post, I email the 1st time from the wrong
account. So I am seeing all these posts about what var's should be in
what configs. I am a little confused as I have never see any sort of
guide or Bosworth's book of Etiquette on the matter. It appears that
"log on" in multiple config's causes issues. If it does, it does,
although I can't see why turning on something that is already on would
hose it. But that's not my question here. When I saw the "log on" in
statsme.cfg, I did disable it simply because I know it doesn't need to
be run twice. So I guess I stayed out of trouble without knowing it. I
have also seen posts on this list and in other forums regarding where
stuff should be. Why is this? This is my cstrike startup:

./hlds -game cstrike +maxplayers 12 -noipx +map de_dust2

Everything else is in my server.cfg file. I have never had an
autoexec.cfg file although I have always been aware of it and how it
works. I guess I just felt it was redundant and not needed, and I
preferred to keep all my settings in one file. I also try to make sure
I don't have duplicate settings in other cfg's that come along w/ mods I
use. Am I missing out on something by doing this? What are the reasons
if any for having an autoexec.cfg or putting certain var's in certain
cfg's?
