Anyway, stable sounds SO MUCH BETTER, doesn't it ?

"What server are you running ?", "Oh, I am running the latest BETA."

while

"What server are you running ?", "Oh, I am running the latest STABLE."

Ok. That's marketing. But - IRL - confuses us a little bit.
