Hi, the "old" problem: CS-server behind a router, the server-port (UDP 27015) is forwarded from the router to the server, the router does NAT, all needed ports are open.
Everybody can connect with giving the WAN/ONLINE-IP But NOT via WON/masterlist. That was ok, cause i allways thought this is caused by the NAT (the server apears at the masterlist, but with a wrong port). Now someone told me it works if you change the IP of the server (normally a LAN-IP) to the online-ip (at the server-console with ip XXX...). That's hard to believe cause i made the experience that it is port-dependend. So here's what i hope to get explained: how get's the masterlist the infos about the server? my thoughts: IP:PORT from the network-package AFTER NAT for example my server has ip 192.168.1.3, port 27015. Now the router get's the package and changes the ip to my online-ip and uses a random port. So the server apears at the masterlist, but with a wrong port. So connecting via masterlist doesn't work. When the router doesn't change the port, all is fine and connection works via masterlist. Would be great if someone who KNOWS how it works can give me some hints :) thanks, Juergen _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
