When running AMX my CPU demand was FAR lower and map change times were
very fast. The only downside is that a lot of the things I use demand
AdminMOD so there's not much of a choice.

I guess one of the things i'm most unsure of is the least bloated, least
cpu intensive module to provide user level commands for teamplay and so
on, in other words, clanmod, adminmod or amx?

You will get all sorts of advice that may conflict.  What you need to do
is fire
up your server and see how it does.  Start with the config you *want*,
and if
that works, great!  If it lags bad, start scaling back on what you think
is
least important untill the performance is good.
