I was taking a look around the RHN and notice something I hadn't seen before. I can browse a list of every package I have installed on my RH machines. To my amazement it was right at or over 500 installed packages. I thought my install was pretty clean. Turns out all kinds of stuff was installed, just not running. Well I went through them all and got the # of packages down to 414. Some things I knew could go like httpd and sendmail, and other I knew had to stay being used for the os itself. Then there were so many that were on the edge of whether they would be needed by any current software that has to be there I just left them to be same.
So how many rpm packages does everyone else have installed on their RH HLDS boxes? Just wondering.
