ROFL - of course we are whining! And with valid reason! When someone connects to my server (my clients or anyone else for that matter) and they see an ad for my competitor? When connecting to my server (not to mention downloading maps from my server using my bandwidth) that does not use the content servers at all for them to connect.
Damn skippy we are gonna complain. If they wanna advertise someone then they can advert VALVE and I could give a care less, but not another server company. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Red Phive Sent: Thursday, November 20, 2003 7:52 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [hlds_linux] valve advertising crap when someones joining my server I host Here here. You are whining about a ad that pops everytme someone connects to your server? When you are running someone elses software on your machine.... what do you expect? They release a server for you to load on your system to make money... for free... Sometimes I wonder where your heads are at.... -PM Shane Robinett aka Weaver wrote: >Come on guys, it's really not that complex of an issue. > >Valve is not a bunch of guys around the living room making stuff to "have >fun" or to "get respect of a community". > >Valve is a business.
