Natural Selection does not only use ambient_generic entities for sounds, but also provides the possibility to use MP3s (with a trigger_mp3audio entity). The stopsound command stops the WAV sounds, however it does not work on MP3s, therefore in NS some ambience sounds can not be stopped. Oh before somebody asks: The reason why NS mappers do not simply use MP3s for ALL the ambience in the maps is that MP3s can not contain cue points that are required/used to loop sounds. Without these cue points there is a small gap / silence before the MP3 starts to play fromthe beginning, so it's unsuitable for ambience sounds that need to be looped seamless. I hope that could clarify this point Regards Oliver / Hypergrip _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
