Sorry I know this has been discussed... I had no need for this til now...
My game community has its annual campout/picnic/lan party at a nearby lake 13-15 Aug where we will play steam games but have no internet connection. What is currently the best/easiest way to go about doing this? I will have a dedicated linux server at the event.
BTW the looks you get from other campers as they walk by staring at picnic tables full of computers is great :)
also, I would reccommend that all your players actually *join* the various games they want to play before packign up and leaving for your event. sometimes it says that you are 100% up to date in your game properties, but it turns out you really arent. We had this issue w/ lots of different people at our 200 player lan in wash dc (www.cplanparty.org if you care) and it was lucky that we had an emergency net connection for people to use.
