Im sorry but maybe I missed this, whats the point of the server knowing the mhz of the cpu again?

I still think having the DS autoconfigure the clock by itself is a good idea. Many server admins are lazy / stupid / etc and this will only confuse them more. Though it would be nice having the *option* to set it ourselves.
