Hey all. What I did to find my motd.txt was to use slocate.
the motd.txt file resides in: /home/$user/cs2src/cstrike (this is my preference) If you have troubles finding your motd.txt do the following: updatedb slocate motd.txt This should find you an accurate location of where motd.txt is in your server.
