Have you tried with LD_LIBRARY_PATH= ? Of course you need to put it in the startup script of the server before launching the game server. An you also need a dir with all the 2.2 libraries needed to run CS or NS.
Once the server as been started you can find out the libraries that it's using looking in /proc/PID_OF_PROCESS/maps (this is for slackware)
