Nice, so valve wasn't able to fix this problem since the beta tests was running?! Shouldn't be that big problem to fix it...
by the way - i did not talk about AthlonXP - i talked about Athlon Thunderbird!
the i486 binary doesn't work...

for CS:Source it's export FORCE=./srcds_i486 using i486 binary rather than the amd is not really better. The players can walk 2 secondes before freezing ... the problem is explained here : http://www.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=160577

Try doing: export HL=./hlds_486 Then run your normal command to start the server. See if that helps.

hi, on our athlon thunderbird 1,4 Ghz cs source is still not working. the server is starting fine but players connected are not able to play. they fall thrue the soil. sems like he engine is not compatible to a athlon < xp or mp - is that correct? will valve fix that?
