Steve, what O/S are you running ? What version of glibc ?

Settings will make a difference to what you are experiencing, but there is
another underlying problem which is causing it.

Sv_maxrate 25000
Sv_minrate 2500
Sv_maxupdaterate 80
Sv_minupdaterate 20

Are what I used to use, and the response was very very good in terms of
bullet reg and performance.

Changing your sys_ticrate to 1000 will help too as yours is set very low,
but will need you to recompile your o/s, whats your cpu usage on your server
when full ?

Hope this helps a little.

Andy

If Alfred has said, "Please set 'sv_variable x'" Then I would have said
sure, no problem, would have done it, then asked what it was... But I'm
unclear what it was... But instead of getting input, I get you being
Flava-Flav to Alfred's Chuck D... Your just going, "Yeah Right!!", and
"Bam" without putting any real insight into it... While there is nothing
wrong with Flav, he's not who I would go to for insight... You can keep
trolling if you wish, but I'm still looking for anyones input about
resolving the lag and bullet registration issues my users have been
complaining about... I've tried the following

sv_minrate 0
sv_maxrate 0
sv_maxupdaterate 100
sv_minupdaterate 20

and that with sv_maxrate 25000. No real difference between them performance
wise... Overall the game is slightly more playable, but in heavy firefights
there is still plenty of warping. Server has full 20 person SRCDS... Users
that still have thier client settings set higher are experiencing MUCH worse
gameplay. Avg Ping is about 30-50ms...

For competitive play, this is really as setback for Source...

To Alfred I would ask, should I keep trying to tweak settings, or has an
issue been identified and a resolution being worked on, or did some
"improvements" in the game change the server requirements?

FYI, my system is Dual AMD Athlon MP 2800+, 1 Gig Ram.

Thanks,
Steve
