odd... cause I just checked my logs(might not get put in the logs) but I
never saw anything one way or another about net_rate. so seems like to me
it did have that command *confused now* can you explain this alfred? lol im
completly lost on what made my servers run better I have 3 css servers up
right now with 1 cod server the css servers have 10-15 people the cod has
right around 40 and im only at 30-40 percent of my duel xeon 2.8 ghz 1.5 gig
of ram... any idea what helped it? my guess is still net_rate cause its
better since I added that

After executing server.cfg and looking at the screen CSS is running in I
noticed:
Unknown command "net_rate"
I assume that means the function doesn't exist and thus is doing nothing?

I must say this is the most screwed up thing in the world it reduced my
cpu

Nothing at all, just default values. So simply comment these settings
out in your server.cfg and try.

Hell, that's how I started learning computers in general and Linux

particular. Trust what people say, follow it, and find out WHY they
said it when it's all running great.
I admit to being ignorant on this topic, which is why I asked the
question. If you can't handle people asking questions, even ones
you
consider dumb, I recommend you discontinue using mailing lists, and
possibly the Internet as a whole.
While I am thoroughly enthralled by your advice, I'd remind you that
I
don't know what net_rate does either, but I'll still change it as
per
Alfred's request when he asks us to do so for troubleshooting
purposes.
Understand it or not, I can evaluate the results and report back,
which is what is needed, here.
