20k is the best since you run on such a fast connection. make sure your
client is set to 20k as well. Pingboost will help i bet..try it. If
you are still lagging then something else is wrong. Either you have a
hardware issue or a network problem. Hardware could be bad nic and
network could be a slow sql server connection. (have you tried
disabling all mods and running just the straight hlds to see if it still
lags?) Also hlds has a slight memory leak. How much ram is hlds using
right now?

Latency mostly. Once I determine latest software works on my test
server, I will test it on the production server to see if the lag spikes
disappear.
Also, it is difficult to troubleshoot network issues as my client on
the same lan receives packet loss. What are the best rate settings to
use for connecting to a lan server that has non-lan clients also
connected to it? My ping goes up and down from 10 to 30 which doesn't
make a lot of sense to me.
