Hey Guys,

So to respond to the multiple answers, I have specified a map and it still
doesn't work, there IS a space between the +sv_lan and the 1, must have
missed the space bar in the email. I have also tried specifying the custom
binary (like srcds_amd) and it just won't start if I do that... any other
ideas?

Just to note, I have run a HL2mp server on linux before, had no problems at
all, but this was on a single core redhat 7.3 pentium box facing the
internet. This Lan box is a dual processor opteron facing only a LAN
running Suse 9.3. I first copied my intial redhat install to the suse box
and had all sorts of problems, seg faults, crashes, etc.. now that has gone
all away with the latest updates and it seems to start fine, but nothing..
so that why I started with a fresh directory with only Steam and let it
download the whole HL2mp diectories incase something was messed up from the
initial copy. So I'm pretty sure my original .sh config file for starting
the server should work, but also tried just basic command line start
(#>./srcds_run -game hl2mp +sv_lan 1 +map steamlab)

At the very least it should give some return on the status command correct?

Thanks
Somellama
