Erm, Putty is Unicode capable, see my screenshot from the mailing list
archive URL I posted:

You just need to settings, Window->Translation and select UTF-8.
I tried, which resulted in this:

The web interface is much cleaner. Most likely a translation problem indeed,
but UTF-8 doesn't work for me, as you can see in the first screenie... Or am
i doing something wrong? (i changed that setting correctly, that for sure).
