The following GLIBC version is working for me on FC4:
rpm -q -a | grep glibc
gives
glibc-kernheaders-2.4-9.1.94
glibc-common-2.3.5-10.3
glibc-headers-2.3.5-10.3
glibc-devel-2.3.5-10.3
glibc-2.3.5-10.3
I recall having to put glibc-devel in order to compile up a third-party mod so
you may not need that or the glibc-kernel-headers .
I would suggest trying the following (as root):
yum update glibc-2.3.5
and see how that goes for you.
