Well, I'm no techie but I just spoke to the sysadmin about it, and here is what he said;
" we we're running 2.6.15.1 and I've downgraded to 2.6.1. just for your lousy Counter-Strike server :) " So I was wrong, but then again, I'm not a techie :) He downgraded the kernel to receive the 500 fps again!
