Oh, I meant just make a "dummy" password. But I understand you completely, so not to worry :) Yeah, as you said, I would suggest getting another admin to try it out on their end and compare what happens. That way you could narrow down the problem with HLSW.
Very strange problems with your VAC. I really don't know much about Hidden Source, so I'm afraid I can't help on that matter :( Maybe somebody else who is more experienced with it can though.

I checked the VAC thing on one updated server as well, HL2MP/CSS/DODS are all secure but with Hidden Source on the same install i get "version : 1.0.1.0/7 2677 insecure (secure mode enabled, connected to Steam3)" yet as i said with the "rollback" all the mods on the server are secured fine.
