Why do you even bother to do that. The answer is everytime the same:

"There is no 64bit support now. The 32bit binaries should be used."

Or there's also a good chance that they don't even answer you. :)

I just wrote to valve askin about this, will see what they say...

Same for me. Six servers, running with a patched hlds_run and the
outdated hlds_amd64 binary, and all of them do not load the security
module anymore for about two days (?) now.

As it was a 50:50 chance in the past to get the secmod loaded on
serverstart, it's maybe only a temporary problem.

But as Valve isn't able to compile the 64bit binaries for over a year
now (some people say they could but wont), it _could_ be the end for
our servers :(.

Maybe someone from Valve can give us some information about that.

I didnt say anything about VAC2, at least i didnt mean to because
when i had
a 32 bit server and when i used to start it it wouldnt say anything
about
Speakeasy module being loaded, it would only say VAC Secured or Not
that is
why i thaught the Speakeasy module only gets loaded on VAC1.
What i am saying is that VAC1 wont load. It used to load.
Last night i tried starting/stopping the server over 10 times now
and i cant
get secured with VAC1(the speakeasy module wount download). Port
27015
UDP/TCP is forwarded just like last time when VAC1 did load.(I have
no
firewall on the machine itsself, at least not yet) I just tried
starting the
esrver again (2 times) but the speakeasy module still wont load.
I play on this one E-Frag server which also has VAC1 and they also
said that
it wont load, so surely somethings not right. My question is, does
it still
exist? What could be wrong?
Thanks

Hello Linux penguin,
Several people have been trying to tell you this already, but I

don't

think you have read their posts very well.. One more time, as

simple as

possible:
You are now running the 64 bit binary that supports only VAC 1.

This

means your server will complain that it cannot load the speakeasy

module

(VAC 2) and will not be 'secure'.

Option 1: run the 32 bit binary (including the 32 bit versions of

the

plugins you use) which is up to date and supports VAC 2. Use a 64

bit OS

and 32 bit emulation. Worst performance out of all options.

Option 2: run the 32 bit binary (including the 32 bit versions of

the

plugins you use) which is up to date and supports VAC 2. Use a 32

bit

OS. Performance will be slightly better then with option 1.

Option 3: run the 64 bit binary (with the 64 bit versions of the

plugins

you use) and do not get VAC 2 support, but slightly better

performance

then with both options 1 and 2.

Even with VAC 2 you will get some cheaters playing on your

server, but

probably less then with VAC 1 only. It is for you to decide what

is more

important to you and base your decision on which binary you want

to run,

on that. By the sound of it, maybe renting a server from a GSP

would be

the best option of all for you.
Good luck,

hi,

I know i posted before that the speakeasy module wouldnt load

but then

it

did.
Now ive tried about 7-8 times and it wont load.(Server

unsecure)

Just happens to be i was playing on this server which wasnt

secure and

they

were talkin about hackers and said that VAC dont work

anymore......I

dont

know if i mis-understood or something(it was in a different

language but

:P)

Is anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks
