You could run a dozen or more league calibre servers on a 100mb dedicated line. You limiting factor will probably be your hardware, and an old 1000mhz server box with 256mb of ram will run a 32 person hlds without a problem, depending on the operating system. For server adminning AMX is probably not the way to go. The development team from AMX joined the AMXX team not too long ago, and AMX is essentially a dead project. AMXX is still under active development, and has far fewer problems than AMX ever did. http://www.amxmodx.org/ Cheers, Drek René Luckow wrote:
-- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Yes, I know, I know, it's a n00b question, but since I closed down my cs server three years ago, I have no idea what to expect. I'm going to run a linux cs1.6 server with about 16 players on a 100MBit dedicated line. I expect to run AMX on it, if that's still the thing to use(oh How I feel old now, and I'm just in my twenties!) Also, is Deacon still around? -- _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
