Reply-To: [email protected] Hello All, I banned a real jerk by his steam ID earlier in the week. Last night he reappeared on my servers without any problem.. However upon looking into his connection he came on under the Steam ID.. STEAM_ID_LAN Has anyone experienced this before? _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? My version of ping doesn't support -n [number]. So i was guessing i should use -s [packet size]. As far as i can tell (and judge) i'm getting reasonably fast ping replies. They range from 0.080ms to 0.110ms Crazy Canucks wrote: > I'm guessing you are paying for a hosting service for your server. Anyhow, how its done is not the question, the question is if we can come to a solution. I will probably test it when i get home, i was unaware that there is a plugin available. Honestly, though, there shouldn't be a need for a plugin. We should just be able to start up using +maxplayers 25, without the need to hack a dll On 10/19/07, Nick DiQuattro <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > -- > [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] > If you were to use the plugin to raise the cap to 25, but only have 24 > players visible would it still get filtered out of the server browser? > > On 10/19/07, Saint K. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Correct, its been done by a simple plugin. > > > > Anyhow, how its done is not the question, the question is if we can come > > to > > a solution. > > > > Cheers, > > > > Saint K. > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Crazy Canucks" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > To: <[email protected]> > > Sent: Friday, October 19, 2007 5:54 PM > > Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] VALVe, server slots question > > > > > > >I believe that the cap can now be broken using a Source Mod plugin, > > > which isn't in violation of any TOS or copyright that I know of. > > > > > > Drek > > > > > > fishy wrote: > > >> I hate to add even more spam to this discussion, however i feel obliged > > >> to note that hacking the precompiled dlls shipped with srcds would be > > in > > >> breach of the terms of service you accept by using hldsupdatetool and > > >> installing the server, and asking valve to condone this activity does > > >> not make sense. > > >> > > >> Bryan Beaudreault wrote: > > >> > > >> _______________________________________________ > > >> To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, > > >> please visit: > > >> http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux > > >> > > > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > > > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, > > > please visit: > > > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux > > > > > > > > > > > > -- > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > > > Checked by AVG Free Edition. If you have any client-side network problems it will show up with all hops getting losses, if you have server related network problems only the last hop to your server will show problems and if your server provider is the problem the hop that leaves the global net and enters your hosting provider (and probably those after) will show problems. Steam updates and client computer / client network problems are the most common cause of lag and unexplained glitches while playing (usually not the server) and pingplotter will almost immediately point these out. Right-click on each hop that you want a graph for to monitor a specific hop. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Oliver Salzburg" To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 19, 2007 10:32 AM Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Networking performance > First of all, thanks. > My version of ping doesn't support -n [number]. Make the game, and let server admins do what they want with it, that is the way it has always been with Valve games, and huge part of the reason why Valve games are so popular. You (the devs and Valve) are only cutting your own throat by starting down that road. It won't happen today, or tomorrow, but eventually that kind of policy decision will rise up and bite you in the ass... You can't fool the filter by hiding the extra slot. Mani is out of luck with chat because he triggers the actual say command which is what is broken on linux. Mani commands can still be executed via console, which is how I have my keys bound anyway, not via the chat. But my plugin is a temp fix for chat only.
