[hlds_linux] Never ever seen my banner.gif

Hi!

Been running a hlds server (CS, 1.6, Linux 2.6.18 with
staircase sched. , Debian 4.0, AMD i686-something) for
some year.

I use a separate machine hosting a dedicated webb
server (VN) for suplying faster downloads and this
seems to work good.

But whenever I connect to my server, from home or
anywhere with some friends account the banner
gfx/banner.gif is never properly displayed below the
"Host provided by:".

Inspecting my webb-server (Slackware something, Linux
2.2, VN 1.18) log I notice banner.gif is properly
requested and sucessfully downloaded by clients:

Ive created several gif images with The Gimp, keeping
them small by using the traditional net-optimized
palette/colour-cube, 340x56 pixels.

The latest image I´ve tried is avail at:

Is there some other special requierements (maybe
format?) for this banner to be displayed?
