Hi, this was part of my reply to your post, but it was a bit of an essay, so
reposting it here:

Can't fork any more than 5, because for some weird reason each server
listens on 3 UDP ports.  If the first server is on port 27015, it also grabs
ports 27020 and 27005, among others.  So if we try to spawn a 6th server,
it'll try to use 27020 as well, and fail.  Trying to spawn an additional
group of 5 sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.

In addition, I've just tried to start up another, non-forked, server, and
it's dying as follows:

WARNING: UDP_OpenSocket: unable to bind socket
WARNING: UDP_OpenSocket: unable to bind socket
Couldn't allocate any hltv IP port

Being started with:

./srcds_run -nomaster -norestart -ip 84.244.189.89 -netconport 9999 -port

I'm about to try running the server with strace to see if I can figure out
what's happening
