Great speech msleeper, if my daughter has trouble sleeping tonight i'll be sure to read it to her...
In my one email on this subject, not once did i infer that thie mailing list is/was/should be an open channel to Valve or indeed a support channel. Ive pasted it below so you can re-read it: ------------------------------- Heres my 10 cents... 1) I cant be arsed visiting another bloody website to check for updates, report issues, et al 2) The forums at steam can get so overloaded on an update its like their being DoS'd 3) l33t et al are just gonna piss us off with nonsense blah blah blah 4) Maybe Valve DO read this list and find an increasing amount of their time is taken up with filtering through arguments and flames and off topic bullshit that we're ALL guilty of from time to time. 5) Lets focus on the age old staple of Q&A only here. No shit like "shut up fattie" or "you run cracked servers" - because with that kinda shite we might as well be on the forums anyway. Im not pointing the finger, as i said above we're all guilty of it at least once. 6) This is deffo the best way for admins to communicate. 7) Sorry to Valve if number 4 is true - we're all gonna try an behave now ----------------------------------- Now, if your 'pointing the finger' at me rage quitting the IRC channel, your wrong on that too. I pop in and out of the channel to ask the odd question here and there in the hope that someone extremely more knowleagble than you (in fact i'd go so far as to say i cannot seem to find one instance of you providing an actual solution to anyone's problem on this list) can give me a sensible, polite answer - and i've been 'rescued' a number of times by Neph and Richard. I see no point idling there all day when i simply contribute more to questioning than answering. Hence, once i got the answer, i'm outta there til the next time. Forgive me if your not referring to me, but as you specifically mentioned me at the start of your email, i feel its best to cover the bases. My POV still stands, for the reasons i mentioned above. Especially number 6. _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
