I run 10 forks for my steam group. I've put the steamgroup ID into the server CFGs, but leave steamgroup exclusive set to zero. I've also set sv_search_key on all my forks to the group's short name (that we all know anyways), and everyone has added "sv_search_key xxxxx" to their autoexec.cfg (on the client).
Now people just fire up a lobby and whatever they pick there is what one of the ten forks run. You can still click the steam group server icon and pick one of the servers and join, that works just fine too... This just allows for the lobby system to still be useful... it's the easiest solution I have, and nobody in the group seems to mind now that we have it set up.
