Oh, if it's about server crashes and restarts, I do not have Ubuntu but I have my SRCDS running in screen, and I wrote a small bash script that can enable / disable / start / stop things in separate screen sessions and also attach to them if you want to go interactive with the server console. You can find it here http://github.com/frostschutz/Screen-Manager In conjunction with a cron job, if the server crashes and it restarts, you get a mail by cron. However it has no ability to actually monitor or react on things that happen in these screens. It can only start if it's gone completely, and not if it's hanging or restarting all by itself.
