back when we use to run a server, I had a fastdl server off my Dreamhost account (it was fast enough for fastdl). I had a shell script that ran once a day (cron job) that fetched the latest updates from the main server for mirroring. DH is unlimited space and bandwidth and for me, it costs less than 8 bucks (give or take...I usually pay once every few years)
