Replying to a mailing list thread should be as easy as replying to any other email.
It's not recommended because you're now picking which master servers to use manually and they could change. Also, there was a bug once where using the setmaster command broke stuff like server queries. The master servers you're adding should be the default ones anyways, but from your email it looks like you're starting with none. Are you (or your GSP) running your server with the -nomaster switch? -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Harry Strongburg Sent: Sunday, May 09, 2010 6:22 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [hlds_linux] Server not being added to master-server I fail at mailing lists, but I think I replied to my post correctly... Update: >setmaster <add | remove | enable | disable> <IP:port> >Current: None I did: setmaster add 216.207.205.99:27011 > setmaster add 216.207.205.98:27011 > setmaster add hl2master.steampowered.com > setmaster enable 216.207.205.99:27011 > setmaster enable 216.207.205.98:27011 > setmaster enable hl2master.steampowered.com > heartbeat > and now it's on the masterserver. I heard this method is not recommended, but why, and why did I need to do those commands? _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
