Unless I'm mistaken I believe that VALVe goofed up and our HLDS Updater is
being mistaken for a new linux beta of the Steam client they are working
on.  Those are all CLIENT files, not server files.  I noticed this
yesterday and when I started seeing .ico files being downloaded I knew
something was very very wrong.  I had to replace all the updated folders
with backups from the previous day.
